DUTIES

  • Maintain, repair, and improve offroad heavy equipment.

OPERATIONS

CREW PLANNING & MANAGEMENT

§ Works with Senior Observer on daily crew planning, activities, movement and downtime

§ Under direction of Senior Observer may be responsible for monitoring, training, mentoring and periodically evaluating field personnel

 

DOCUMENTATION and DATA COLLECTION

§ Under direction of Senior Observer, ensures that OB logs are accurate and sufficiently detailed and works with Senior Observer on  data tests and logs including but not limited to: field & instrument tests; Vibe similarities and cap test (if applicable); SPS, RPS, XPS files; Observer and production logs; excel Observer logs; SQC jpegs

 

RECORDING EQUIPMENT

§ Under direction of Senior Observer, operates recorder instruments to ensure data quality and understands the function of field equipment

§ Works with Senior Observer to ensure recording equipment is maintained to full working capacity, identifies faulty equipment and has it replaced immediately to ensure proper data acquisition. Works with crew personnel to ensure equipment damage is minimized.

§ Works with Senior Observer to ensure daily inventory and tracking of the equipment on the assigned project(s) is complete and accurate

§ Under direction of Senior Observer ensure backup program is in place such that recorded information is accessible in case of unforeseen circumstances

  • Liaise with Fleet Coordinators and Project Manager/RCM to develop crew change plans, identify any shortfalls, and implement solutions toward efficient movement of personnel to and from offshore field.
  • Verifies accuracy of subcontractor and supplier invoices along with the corresponding POs and submits to Accounting as per the defined schedule and process
  • Coordinate importing/exporting shipments to vessels, this includes preparing Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and staying on contact with Shipping providers
  • Liaise with Human Resources, HSE&Q, Operations, and other relevant departments to coordinate crewing requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Technical Diploma/Certificate or equivalent combination of field experience and relevant training.
  • >2-5 years’ of proven experience working on large marine seismic acquisition projects.

SAExploration is seeking a Mechanic responsible for ensuring Heavy Equipment mechanical equipment is properly maintained as per manufactures recommendations/SAE Plant and Maintenance Schedule.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all maintenance and repairs conform to manufactures technical, operational, and quality specifications and maintain detailed records for the same.
  • This is a field position responsible for specific tasks related to field acquisition projects. To be effective in this role, the individual consistently exhibits high attention to detail, safety standards and quality in service and operations. Heavy equipment may include trucks, CATS, dozers, loaders, generators and other pieces of equipment.
  • Communicates with the Recording Crew Manager and Mechanical Supervisor on regular basis to ensure project timelines and ongoing operations are met.
  • Diagnose equipment problems and carry out repair in a timely manner, inspect and test machinery according to safety requirements.
  • Educate field staff on basic things to watch for in relation to equipment maintenance, problem reporting and why problems have occurred.
  • Participate in HSE&Q programs/meetings.

 

Work Experience and Specific Skills

  • Position requires a great deal of physical work, the ability to ensure adverse weather conditions and in many cases the position is seasonal in nature, working 12-14 hours day.
  • Work is on the North Slope and work hitches are typically 30-42 days with 7-10 day breaks during the acquisition season.
  • Valid Driver’s License & First Aid Certificate (will train if applicable)
  • Must pass a background check, drug screen and physical
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in adverse conditions, line trucks and UTV’s.
  • High attention to safety standards and quality in service and operations.

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient project management of acquisition projects within the global operation, managing multiple projects on-time and on budget while partnering with individuals at all levels of the organization looking for opportunities to improve efficiencies, exceed safety targets, and further develop of long-term customer relationships.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Operations Supervisor for our global operations. This is a salaried full time position based in Calgary, AB., or Houston, TX.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSILITIES:

  • Ensure company QHSE goals are implemented and achieved across areas of responsibility.
  • Provide day-to-day management, direct and develop the field management team, while fostering a success-oriented, accountable environment within the field operations.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement plans (sales, operational, QHSE, technical, and personnel) designed to support field operations.
  • Support and participate in full implementation of the annual operational plan to enhance sales, safety, profitability, productivity, and efficiency within the operation.
  • Has P&L responsibility for crew operations. Exercises control over crew costs and performance and may submit periodic reports and analysis. Responsible for crew operating expenditures and the explanation of variations to budget.
  • Build effective, long-term relationships with clients, suppliers, sub-contractors and stakeholders.
  • Stay well informed of customer projects, budgets, organizational structures and potential work from key customers and monitor industry activities in order to assist in developing and maturing overall business strategies.
  • Visits assigned crews on a regular basis and maintains familiarity with crew operations, strengths and problem areas.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Proficiency in OBN / Land Seismic Acquisition process.
  • Advanced skills in negotiations and project management.
  • Ability to deliver results while working in a fast-paced, high-stress, and change driven environment.
