United States – Lower 48

SAExploration is a leading full-service seismic company is currently looking for dedicated individuals to work in the Lower 48, United States.  Applicants must be willing to travel and work away from home in various weather conditions.

Positions are full-time hourly positions, working up to 42 days rotation, 7 days per week. Work shifts are 12 – 13.5hrs daily.  Hotel room accommodation, subsistence per diem and travel compensation is provided by Company. 

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Seismic industry experience a plus
  • Valid, Basic Operator Class “D” driver’s license
  • Required to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Must be able to complete all necessary training required by QHSE department

The Vibe Operator is responsible for supervising the operation and maintenance of vibroseis equipment.  Job requires extensive travel to remote job sites within the crew structure and most is done in the field. The Vibe operator is able to read maps, utilise GPS systems and operate the vibrator safely and effectively in the course of seismic data acquisition.

Duties:

  • Ability to read maps and show leadership to fellow Vib ops.
  • Good knowledge of Seismic Operations, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to work long hours in remote locations.
  • Assist Vibe Technician in the timely and safe repairs to SAExploration equipment.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.

The line crew helper provides labour in deploying, retrieving, installing and maintaining of seismic equipment. The line crew helper must understand and execute program objectives as directed by their immediate supervisor in a safe and efficient manner.

Duties:

  • Provide labor in deploying, retrieving, installing and maintaining of seismic equipment.
  • Capable of moving and transporting equipment up to 75 lbs over uneven terrain.
  • Capable of working outdoors with varying temperatures and adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of walking distances of up to 10 kilometers.
  • Capable of installing equipment through, in and around various natural and man-made obstacles requiring agility and flexibility of movement.
  • Able to comprehend a variety of rules or instructions furnished in a written, oral, or schedule form.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age and able to pass a pre-employment physical
  • Valid Drivers Licence preferred.

Duties:

  • Assists in planning and requisitioning of new, recording equipment, radios and computers
  • Works with Seismic Observers to verify field instrument tests and make sure equipment is within specified limits
  • Acts as technical liaison with client representatives
  • Oversees and participates in the installation, interfacing, testing and usage of equipment and/or programs
  • Troubleshoots and corrects system breakdowns to reduce crew down-time
  • Complies with and enforces policies and procedures of SAExploration and the customer, as well as regulatory or industry requirements
  • Completes audits on equipment, personnel and procedures


Qualifications:

  • Electronic Technology diploma or 2 years of post-secondary relevant engineering education
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
  • 2D, 3D, 4D, Heli-portable, conventional seismic experience an asset 
  • Strong technical aptitude 
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft office products 
  • Must be legally entitled to work in the region applying for and willing to travel
